Yea, i would never murder my child if god asked, and I think anyone that does say they would is very immoral, but i can definatly see alot of the points your making and they are valid and i appreciate you sharing openly. I can see why you would, and it makes sense coming from a religious point of view i suppose if you believe it all the way you described.

My answer.. NO!....different times...different cultural expectations .. different laws. What was forgivable then..is not now and probably never will be.

Your friend is picking a verbal battle he believes he can win because he is defending "his beliefs", and because they are his beliefs there is no way you will ever "win" this discussion. Like many religious people, without "in your face" proof that he is wrong he is not going to budge. Makes no sense to even discuss this on anything other than a philosophical level. Better to agree that you will always disagree and be done with it.
