Description:The user holds the rat handseal and closes their eyes, gathering chakra into them. The user then opens them suddenly, and emits an extremely bright flash from their eyes that can temporarily blind and/or disorientate enemies. The blinding effect usually lasts one turn.

Edamaru has the house to himself tonight. As he finishes up a bowl of ramen and begins getting ready for bed, he accidentally knocks over a book sitting on the table. It topples onto the floor, landing open to a page entitled "Lightning Jutsus." The first entry to catch Eda's eye is the Lightning Flash technique, used to temporarily blind a foe. With interest, he takes a seat and begins to read.

Moments later, after going over the specific handseals (Just one), he stands in his bathroom in front of a mirror. Since he has no foe right now, he has decided to try the technique out on himself. He forms the Rat seal with his hands and closes his eyes, facing the mirror. As chakra slowly builds in his eyes, he also prepares himself to be unable to see for a few seconds. As the built-up chakra reaches its peak, he opens his eyes quickly and is rewarded with a blinding flash of light... Though rewarded may be the wrong term here.

Edamaru stumbles backwards, trying to rub out the stars in his vision. Jutsu success! But he'll be seeing stars for likely the rest of the night. What was he thinking?

Edamaru hears something shatter in the living room. He stops rubbing his eyes as the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.
"A burglar?" He mutters to himself quietly, turning the light off in the bathroom. The intruder needs no indication that anyone is here.

His vision clearing up, he quickly runs through the hallway and peeks around the corner. In the living room, dressed rather cliche, was a man in a black ski mask and dark clothing. He rummages through the writing desk under the newly-broken window, clearly searching for any valuables inside. Edamaru presses his back to the wall behind him and formulates a plan to apprehend the thief.

Edamaru thought, My new jutsu should blind him long enough to get to an advantageous spot to laugh an attack... I hope he isn't a ninja as well; he could be trouble if he is...

He steps slowly past the corner. His eyes are closed and his hand form the Rat handseal. The burglar takes no notice of his presence yet, and Eda takes his time to gather chakra behind his eyelids. When he's just about ready, the wary teenager speaks into the open space of the room. One word will be enough to get his attention.

"Hey."

The burglar whirls around at the voice, staring directly at Edamaru just as he opens his eyes. Like lightning, the jutsu goes off and the would-be thief lets out a yell. "***! I can't see!" He flails around wildly, trying to locate Edamaru through the stars in his eyes. He's vanished without a trace.

Gee, I wonder why, Sherlock... The yough ninja is perched on the railing of the balcony upstairs, ready to jump down and deliver a crushing blow to the intruder's head. While his foe is still flailing around blindly, Edamaru silently leaps into the air, flipping his body to add momentum to the weight of his foot as he sails down. With a dull thud, his kick lands...

His kick lands on the intruder's blocking arm, cracking the radius and causing the thief to stumble back in pain. Edamaru lands on both feet in front of his target.

"Your vision's cleared already, huh?" Edamaru smirks, rubbing his scar with left palm. "Well, I feel sorry for you; you get to be blind again!" With a short laugh, Edamaru ran toward his foe, jumping and kicking him in the chest as a means to propel himself backwards. In midair, he closes his eyes, gathering chakra into them once more. He forms the Rat handseal and as he lands, he opens his eyes as fast as he can! The room lights up as his jutsu goes off, and the burglar growls in frustration.

"Silly burglar. Did you even notice that a light was on? That usually means somebody's home." Edamaru sighed, popping his knuckles. "Maybe when I finish with you, I'll leave you tied up outside for Dad to see."

"Grrr, just try it, punk!" The prowler turns towards Edamaru's voice and stumbles forward quickly, brandishing a crowbar. Nimbly dodging under the robber's attack, Eda roundhouse-kicks him in the abdomen, bringing the pilferer to his knees in pain. His weapon clangs to the floor with him. Without missing a beat, he somersaults, snatching up the larcenist's crowbar and landing on his feet again. "If you didn't notice, that sound was the fat lady singing." Edamaru said with finality. He brings it crashing against his foe's face, smashing several bones and knocking him unconscious.

~The next morning~

Edamaru wakes up to the sound of his father laughing hysterically at the thief outside, who has finally woken up. The young ninja grins and rolls over, missing the conversation that follows.

"Bahahaha, you got beat this badly by my kid? I guess he learned from his old man!" Raito loudly taunts the robber as he unties him. "Well, Haro, how'd he do?"

"***. I didn't expect him to go all out. You're not paying me enough for this, dude... Hurts like *** hell." Haro groans as Raito laughed and thumped his back. "Go get yerself fixed up, buddy. I'll give you a little extra for taking such an asskicking."

Before his 'friend' left, he grabbed Rai's shirt and said, "This ***is between you and me, right? Nobody needs to know I got my *** beat by a fourteen year old. I wasn't even trying." "Sure, sure, nobody will find out. Get outta here, Haro. Hahahaha."

Raito waved him off with a soft chuckle and stepped into the house, dusting off his shirt as he closed the door behind him.
