Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

Hindsight doesn't really work in this instance.. I mean it's *** like those who drove me to FFXIV in the first place.. Things were a lot more tolerable solo, and I got the drop on it.. FFXI I joined after ~most~ people already had their first 75.. Quite a few in my first LS were working on their 3rd or even 4th 75..

But it just couldn't hold my attention.. I've basically lost faith in MMORPGs now.. Some look fun and interesting.. But I played FFXIV and it was doing the same 'drain my life every waking hour must be spent playing it' thing that most MMOs do, but it didn't last long at all.. After a month or two the problems became intolerable.. I lost interest in it pretty quickly. If I were to pick up a MMORPG again, it would be FFXI, but that just isn't going to happen, there's literally 0 chance, because I don't even want to play it anymore, any desire for 'what used to be' is quickly squashed by the memory of *** and drama.. You're either on your own (more or less) or you get involved in a LS in which drama quickly ensues.

I was sort of one of those "self-important, number crunching ***", I guess. When abyssea first came out, I used to make alliances all the time for exp. It was indeed a pain the *** ***, however, there was always some wiggle room for those less than desired jorbs. :3 I just wouldn't take them first, lol.

Ya lol I can't make my mind up.. but a friend talked some sense into me so hopefully this time around is more fun(ner?) (is that a word?) and less drama filled.

I can't be entirely sure, but either these people (it was more than once) were just being extremely picky, or they just didn't want a BST at all.. I know BST isn't the ideal DD, but I had decent gear, and they'd end up sitting in town, standing around for an ~hour.. The shouts in question are all specifically looking for DD, that doesn't include the ones where they were just trying to fill parties and rejected my BST, to which I would offer to come DNC or RDM until they could find a replacement healer and I could work on what I really wanted to (of which they never did, ever.. I'd have to wait until my merits were full and had to leave and then just kinda show up "hey I'm back, as BST, take it or leave it).

I got a tight-nit group of friends atm, and we usually just do what we want, and can get it done. Even joining a party, we'll help each other out by going my/their good jobs, to help level mine or another one of the others sub job for example.

Yeah, there are some people who just see it as fail to take any less than the "best". Slow exp is shitty, but in those situations you just need to have a few to fill the "gaps" that the uh... lower end jobs create. People are lame and don't know how to balance.

I'd become accustomed to idiots.. Oh I loathed people who would set up a traditional XP party like BRD RDM SAM SAM SAM WAR or anything close to it.. I was the goddamned RDM and I did ALLLLLL the work.. I healed, buffed, and enfeebled.. What did the Melee do? Attack a target and WS <_< and probably a good 30% of the fight time during all those parties combined, some melee was AFK or wasn't paying attention.. Melee AFKs, what happens.. Fights take a couple seconds longer.. No one says ***or cares.. Let ME miss one heal or haste and I have to hear about how shitty of a RDM I am.. Meanwhile I can't even read it because I've had to go without blinking for so long my eyes feel someone poured sand into them.

Bullllllshit! If this was happening in my parties, which I made most of my own parties(check my profile for reference to how much I exped :p), they got their *** replaced. Same with the mages or anyone else in my party. I know it was "just an experience points party", but I didn't like to level longer than I had to and it was already long enough. If you want to *** around, that's fine but find someone else's time to do it with! xD

Then you need to go to Valefor.. Seems everyone on that server is just used to mages doing all the work.. Once some idiot went AFK in a bad spot, can't quite remember where, it was in my 50's or 60's.. He was standing a couple feet beyond aggro range of mobs we couldn't take.. He started taking damage and I let him die.. I was then kicked from the party, well as soon as the current fight was over that me and the rest of the party were in..

After I'm kicked I /t the leader and ask why... It's because I just let him die.. Doesn't matter he AFK'd in an extremely bad spot, somehow it's all my fault. I should have cure bombed him until he came back and was able to zone.. Or so I was told... Never mind I'm a RDM, and I don't have RR to begin with and the only mage of the group..

EDIT: actually thinking of all these times, I don't know how I ever dealt with this game in the first place.. I mean this is just like the 1% of my horrible stories.. Everytime I turn around I was grouped up with some *** who made me want lift my 20 pound CRT monitor over my head shove my head through it and hope if the bleeding or blunt trauma didn't kill me, the electrical current would..

Slip, that's one of the reasons I made my own parties and such. :p I still had bad experiences, of course. But at least I could cut them down to a minimum, lol.

I'm a follower/rebel, not a leader. I have never been a leader.. I can't deal with all the tells and *** that accompany it, but at the same time I'm not content to just say '*** this' and waste people's time who haven't been bitching me out for my decisions or problems that may arise between 2 or more other party members..

I've tried to create a party, and have even taken over leadership of quite a few, and one of two things usually happen within an hour..

1. Some members aren't happy with my direction/leadership
2. Two or more members start squabbling about everything from who's pulling and/or healing to who's number-crunching-*** is bigger

I can't/won't deal with either situation. My first reaction is to tell them to shut up or leave.. But that means the other members who didn't have a problem are now suffering.. I'm not a diplomatic person in game.. I logged into the game to distract myself from real life drama and relax, not take on more.
