See I thought that too... but it's more like... Fang has an unrequited love for Vanille. Vanille just thinks she's an older sister type, and Fang just wants to strap on her polearm and go to down on Vanille.

How can you like vanille? I couldn't stomach her as my healing or sab.... made me rage

I think she had some other use...like curing.. but hope pretty much did that just as good.
Hope Fang Lightning.
Quick stagger build. Easy face wrecking when staggered. Good Tank. And Hope has casting covered. Besides to Vanille in combat was like watching JPorn.
