She's never going to actually get better, she has Emphysema (which the only real cure for is a lung transplant) has for a long time, but over the last few years it's really picked up speed and got a lot worse. At this point it's just trying to keep it from getting much worse, or at least at a slower rate, and try and treat the symptoms she already suffers.
I am quite familiar with the disease and I hate how there is no cure - minus the lung transplant :I And the people who NEEd the lung transplants are actually quite low on the acceptance list :<

It makes me so sad and angry! You would think Science would have come further then they have :(

Science has come a long way.. But it'll be awhile before we're immortal (and I fully believe if we continue to develop, even if it takes thousands or millions of years, eventually science and medicine will bring us to a state of immortality)..

Still the recent breakthroughs in the Genome Mapping and Gene Therapy are promising.

Oh I agree Science has come miles from where they began--- bloodletting to exorcise the demons for example :I

But some diseases seem to get the advances while others take a back burner..

Seems to me more could/should be done rather then say

millions on whether butterflies can feel with their wings ..(sarcasm its in there)

How funding for research for disease cures is allotted is mostly based on what medications would be the most profitable to pharmaceutical companies

Yeah I'm not really sure why or how certain diseases are decided to be more important than others.. But it's how things are, and we mostly just have to accept it. You could spend your entire life savings and spend the vast majority of your life trying to get attention drawn to other diseases and conditions, only to have it do nothing at all. Doesn't mean people shouldn't try, but I've just come to accept such truths.

On the bright side sometimes we get weird medications that solve another problem than they were initially designed to solve.

Sildenafil, (now most widely known as viagra) was originally being tested to treat high blood pressure in Pulmonary Artery Hypertension. When doctor's noticed the side effects they had a billion dollar drug. Sometimes it works the opposite way and they find drugs that surprisingly treat life threatening conditions.

Oh okay, yeah I didn't get what you meant.. I like them when I'm intoxicated, I like the sound of them more than what they're actually saying (although they have a few songs that I really identify with, like Black Dahlia, The Diary or Young).

Try Hourcast or Flaw.

edit: it can be cut out... there are things you can do to fight it and help it to go away but we don't have a cure for it I wish we did...

Whole and Endangered species are two I'd really recommend by Flaw.. From Hourcast, Sakkara and Memories and Lies.. They give you a good idea of what type of band each is.

Submersed is another little known band you might enjoy.

<.< I remember first hearing them, I actually called it beautiful, a word I almost never use. There is a level of beauty in their music, something I've never really came across before. Something in their music tugs at me the same way Moonlight Sonata does.

Because it's over-rated and is only being used at the moment to draw people in on a gimmick, because most don't have 3DTVs yet.. So for most the only place to go and watch a movie in all it's '3D glory' is the theater.

It really is over-rated though.
