Guess those phone manufacturing jobs aren't coming back to america gents. But I was told we're going to be the ones building the phones with all the tiny screws! I watched a video where a dev was discussing about working hours.
Generally companies here demand 8 x 5 or maybe 44h. That becomes blurry with home office. The dev was honest: he said he never worked 40h. And justified that he delivers the expected for the 40h. So, the extra time is his extra “reward” for his capabilities. He made a good point by telling that, during lay offs, its more likely the company will keep the people performing for 40h regardless of his working hours, than others that maintain the schedule but dont deliver the same. Kinda myself yesterday, when i work office, but my mind was so distracter that I just spent 3h in meeting, then three hours staring at notebook. And you? Do you even try working the time youre suppose to work? Or deliveries is the only factor companies should consider?
