Well yea, I said it already. Being able to verify the state of something in the past is crucial in an era where we are constantly bombarded with information and printed text is increasingly rare. Without trustworthy archives, changing history in the manner used in 1984 becomes viable.
I just don't think this has that sort of impact. A DDoS will not typically destroy any data on the website, and there's no indication I can see that the breach was destructive in nature.
