If it is the year 12,024 and a being is simulating 2024, then it is equally likely it is 22,024 and a being is simulating 12,024 simulating 2024. Infinite rings up.

And that means the machine in 102,024 can't infinitely simulate 100,000 years of physics and emotions and thoughts in 8 billion humans (and bugs and rodents and aquatic life etcetcetc) 100,000 fold.

He'd first need to take a master class on Severe Clinical Narcissism.

Just played one extra hour of FFXIII, and I must admit the start is kinda hard to get into.

It doesnt help with constant switching between 3 different parties every 3 fights. Plus that two of those three parties are being obscure with what they want. Plus the pairing Lighting with Sazh makes me feel like Lighting is racist, because she treats extremelly rudely him for no aparent reason.

But the worst part is the fighting. At this early, all I can do is auto attack and drop potions. After a while I started to notice I wasnt earning exp nor skill points so Im not sure why Im even fighting for.

RPGs must have battle rewards to improve our character. Im sure later on I will have some sort of improvement related to some battle grind, but at the very start, I wish I could simply skip every single battle if they arent rewarding me properly.

I think RPGs should allow players to wander off into the world and get lost. This played more like a guided adventure game, leading you along the rail through the story to showcase cinematics. Fine for the time if that's your thing, but it doesn't hold up well over time.

Internet says that homo sapiens appeared 200k years ago so it wouldnt the longest run.

If the worst becomes true, the humanity can even undertake a great reset moment, but it will outlive it because it has only 2 really interesting features, one of them being its resilience

vent moment.

I had some stress while trying to enroll for a MBA in data science. They offered a 10% discount if the total price was paid upfront, or paying in 22x.

I went with the first option. Then I gave them the other required document.

Then it was the time of payment. I received the bill and it was the full course price.

Obviously without the promised discount, otherwise this wouldnt be a vent moment.

I filled a complain asking the due discount.

Short after, a third party sent me a message on my whatsapp saying: "hi, youre from company XXX right? I will help you, contact me".

In our time and age, as much as it seemed legit, you cant simply send a message like this if youre doing business. It could pretty much be a scam, so I just ignored the message.

Short after, I receive an email from a proper attendant telling me to contact the third party.

Then I replied saying: "I dont want to contact anyone. I just want my discount your institute promised when I tried to enroll the course".

Then the answer was "ok, we will send you the correct bill".

After 2 weeks, obviously nothing happened, otherwise this wouldnt be a vent moment. The bill there is still the full price, but now it says Im late. Because I wouldnt never pay the incorrect price.

Stressed by this shitty consumer service, I went to a public site that receive complains about general services, and filled mine. I for me, its over.

Since then, I receive 2 emails of the institute trying to contact me to understand better the situation.

But Im done with them. I wont be stressed by some shitty reason. Plus, makes no sense doing a course of data science when the own company simply divulge my personal info to third party in a clear violation to data law.

Vent's over.

Now back to our normal shitposting routine.

10% is garbage anyway, it's better to keep hold of the money and pay at the end or as you go.

You can gain interest on it, you can use it for an emergency or some other thing, you can refuse to pay if they don't provide the service as you want, if something happens and you have to quit early you pay less, you are in a position of power over them to try make sure you get a good quality service.

To pay upfront they would have to offer me a much bigger discount than 10%

I actually thought this later, and I agree 10% isnt as insteresting than paying in 22 months.

But its also my personality: I dont like to have debts or to have a future compromise.

Yeah, that was one of the reasons that made me gave up working with IT infrastructure.

Having wake up in a morning and... seeing nothing is working and not having a clue whats happening while all the bosses sending you messages: "get this ***fixed asap".

So that job "interview" turned out to be a ploy to lure me into being a sales commissioners *** for 3 months in the hopes I would quit after earning them 50% commission on like 1/3rd more work than they do naturally or whatever. Nah, I ain't looking to slave away in some sorta other sigma's grind until I get good money, nah.

But all my job hunting did accelerate me getting a raise, and I received an $8100 raise to my salary at my current job so... guess I gotta start looking for even better jobs than I was before.
