Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

Basically everyone I know is sick.

I had surgery two weeks ago and two days after went into a dry coughing fit, bronchitis and a sinus infection. The fun part was a week later when I found out I have a sulfa allergy and the antibiotic caused me to break out into hives.

Both my kids have been coughing for 2 months, youngest had pneumonia last month (apparently pediatric pneumonia has been a big problem this year). He has tracheomalacia, so it's really scary when he gets anything. My Dad, who is supposed to have heart surgery in two days, started dry coughing two days ago.

Basically everyone I know is sick with something. All our urgent care centers here are slammed with people who had COVID, flu, bronchitis, etc. It's always a seasonal thing here but it seems worse this year.

As an aside, if you get COVID, you have about 5 days to get on paxlovid to reduce the viruses ability to replicate. After that, it's useless, but it can reduce your symptoms and the duration of the disease if you/your doctor think it's worth it. I haven't taken it, I know some who have and said it worked great, others had side effects. YMMV, but just know it's out there and you can discuss it with your doctor if you test positive

Vacation starting on the 28th. Anniversary on New Years. Graduation party for fiancée on the 7th.

Haven't gotten to take advantage of the double CP campaign much. Play time so limited blergh. I need to Master something! At least one thing! But I also need Plaudits and ***. Blegh.

Got two Kaja weapons in the barrel waiting on pulses. Great Axe and Spear.

Thinking about trying to get some from Meeble Burrows, though I read that some Eschan Behemoth is the bees knees. Either way, next month Vyre and Dumakulem reach 170 deeds and boom goes the dynamite anyway.

4700ish more Plutons to i119-3 Mandau. Still need like 25k Alexandrites. There's toooooo much to obtain and not enough hours to play Q.Q

its that time of year for a new strain of the flu to become prevalent too. Thankfully the newest strain of covid is also less deadly but more infectious.

Truly stunned that Netflix put so much effort into a movie the likes of "Maestro"....am honestly dumbfounded to see a very classic movie in terms of something character-drive, not plot- or effects-driven, given such a large space in the discussion. If you've gotten used to movies the past 20 years, this is going to feel very odd, but I do promise, its beautifully done.

And as someone who considers Leonard Bernstein likely the 3rd most important man in who I developed into, all I truly feel moved to say is that the beauty of this film is in its incompleteness....that it can still tell the story of man who truly loved deeply and completely, had a knowledge that would set the stage for a century of American Conductors, yet never lost his childlike fascination with the world, all while being an incomplete picture- that it honestly a shocking accomplishment. Perhaps it could only be told incompletely. Such greats are often impossible to encapsulate in 2 hours, and if a true attempt is made to do so one is left just feeling like they've been shown a hollow shell instead of a true depiction.

I'll take a perfect, albeit limited, slice instead of that shell any day.

Barret character quest! The Cloud/Tifa/Aerith ones have been nice so far, so I can't wait to see what they do for him.
Boss rush could be cool.
Bahamut co-op is gonna be real nice for folks struggling to clear the solo stuff. Getting the weapons from it should make clearing it easier.
Critical Threat reruns this early is unexpected, but it'll be nice to see if I can beat the crash battle this time lol.
And new character! It's gotta be Yuffie considering the stuff in the files, but part of me is expecting another First Soldier donut.

That kinda reminds me that I watched a trailer the other day for a movie I'd never heard of before. It's about Vincent van Gogh, and apparently every frame is hand-painted. I've still not seen it, but it seems to have positive reception, and the trailer looks really pretty.

Can anybody confirm about the hidden relic-like proc effect is only present on the last stage of Prime Weapons?

I'm talking about the X% chance for triple damage on melee attacks, proccing max once per attack round.
And what is the chance? 15%?

No. It's on Stage 4 and 5. Stage 4 is double, stage 5 upgrades to triple.



Don't know the % but it isn't nearly as rare as relic procs were.
