I've been planning to watch a 100% playthrough of FFIX (well, minus the Excalibur II, of course). I only played it twice, and I think I missed some stuff. It's got a good story and I forgot most of its intricacies anyways so yeah.

Nope. There wasn't even an NG+ option iirc
You can 100% FF9 while getting Excalibur II, it's really difficult however.

Plus the PC version has a bunch of buff things that probably make that easier.
I'm just gunna (mostly) casual it up the first time through though. Seems possible on PC with the various options. Dunno about old school. Also, related: Starting a new ME2 save. Ubskippable cutscenes are the worst. Don't use the buffs Grumpy. Don't be a ***.
If kids can beat it without using those options, so can you most likely. |
