As someone who lived there so long, how do you rate Italy human rights wise or equality wise?
A lot of improvements over the years for example?
Or a lot less optimism
I just realized I worded that ambigously. I meant there are no elections *this year* and that our governments usually fall easily so never say never.
Anyway...
We have been the slowest country in EU to recognize equal rights to homosexuals(many politicians are still boycotting gay unions in their cities...)
Abortion is a legal right.
Women have equal pay and granted maternity leave(fathers too), but culturally are not always respected. Big portions of the country still think women shouldn't even work.
There is a minimum wage but there are often abusive employers who pay less and without contract thus not recognizing legal rights to the workers(happens often with immigrants and young people).
8 hours work/day with at least one day off(some jobs have two).
...and Idk I'm killing aerns can't think of other stuff to say right now.
