Not every adventurer and sellsword can have a super special weapon Define super special. Quite a few of the relics/allagan weapons/magitek things are all things that are or were mass produced according to the lore. /shrug

Everything up to level 50 is just reskins and palette swaps of the same few weapons over and over again. It's when you get to 50+ that you start seeing a wide variation in how weapons look. The playerbase likes to hook onto the flavor of the month glamours though, so you will see the same things repeatedly. fantasy doesn't mean the design has to be crazy. the fantasy is the fact that it's a world where someone would actually use or need a sword. i think some of the designs are over the top. for example; ffxi had crazy looking swords @75, but then burtgang/excal were still traditional looking well done swords. that's what i mean. everything doesn't HAVE to be over the top. Those designs make sense for use in combat (1.0 had a bigger focus on that) That doesn't mean I don't like the cool looking fantasy swords, I just enjoy having more proper swords for the npcs

new tomes weapons look very traditional to me (ones that use 10 Rowena tokens and a tablet)
