Every now and then, when I've become quite bored with the endgame scene, I create a new character to dink around with in FFXIV. While this is fun for a time, it still lacks the "freshness" of starting a brand new MMO.
However, this time I decided to try it out on a different server. Things are going well, linkshells are full of people, and they all seem to have a good time. Now, on this character, I'm doing things much differently than my previous two characters, and have elected to be a little more industrious, if even at a slower pace while leveling. My highest level is 35 for this character, with a large group of crafting jobs being leveled. Obviously, some are much easier to level than others, or simply easier to gravitate towards, my big two are Goldsmithing and Weaver around levels 33-35, with Blacksmith and Armorer in the mid 20's range, and of course Miner heading towards level 28.
For some reason, I can't be bothered to deal with alchemist, carpenter, fisher, or botanist. The good news is that Alchemist has gotten to turn in potions for a large amount of experience every time the mission allowance comes up, so that's made it more manageable.
Anyways, the good news is that it's been really easy, and getting easier to make gil at minimal investments (just teleporting around, killing stuff, and mining stuff) as opposed to buying the ingredients off the MB to quick level. I think in the past week or so, just dinking around, I've managed a good 600-700k off of relatively low level items and selling excess stacks of items.
The one thing that bothers me is always having to farm shards... I just need so much lightning shards for weaver!
