Another word for those of you delving into Terraria:

When you play with friends online, be very clear from the beginning whether or not it's ok to bring in outside items from premade or hacked characters. There is no surer way to ruin the game than someone who logs in with 9999 of everything who wipes out all the bosses and distributes all the rare items to everyone on your server.

The game isn't truly fun until you play on Expert mode where everyone has a hardcore (can only die once) player.

Why do people say "worked like a charm" when something goes very well when in reality charms do nothing at all?

A charm is a powerful magical item you bought from a witch for a certain purpose. They're near foolproof and cannot fail.

Ergo the saying, "worked like a charm!"
Yeah but magic doesn't work... so it seems really ironic to say "works like a charm"

I can explain the phrase. In the 1940s prostitutes, aka "Working Girls" wore charm bracelets to identify themselves to potential customers. The term refers to the charms (prostitutes wearing charm bracelets) working hard for their money.
