Hey all, I need to write something down that happened today real quick. It's been bothering me a bit (probably completely pointless, but bear with me).
Today on the bus, I saw an elderly woman step in. She obviously couldn't walk that well, so I offered her my seat (I was sitting right next to the door).
She smiles and walks towards the seat, while I go to a different seat; about 2 or three away from her. As soon as I sit down I see she's about halfway in the proces of sitting down.
But then the bus starts moving again, she loses balance and falls almost flat on her back. It happens in like 2 seconds.
Thankfully (by some miracle) she didn't break anything and wasn't too angry but I've been thinking that WHAT IF I had just waited for a few seconds for her to sit down first before I moved away...?
I could have prevented her from falling. I felt almost guilty for not doing that. I know it sounds stupid, but well.. it's a bit hard to explain.
It's been gnawing at me for a while and I have more or less accepted that it wasn't my fault, but I still haven't come completely to terms with this matter.
Sorry for the long post, but I feel a bit better writing it down. Thanks for your time.
