Everything I've heard about 10 indicates it's the real deal, though the one guy I know who plays FFXI on it has had some issues (likely related to XI using a DirectX version from 1998).
I just hate the way 8 was. My parents and sister have laptops with 8 and it just feels like it shouldn't be on a PC with no touch screen.

Have seen so many people bitching about it. Was an article somewhere where some guy was bitching that he can't just lvl craft/gatherer jobs and play the whole game. let me see if I can find it

there. if they continue the "complete previous storylines to access the next xpac" thing for the 2nd 3rd 4th xpacs, I can see it being an issue. But for now it isn't exactly a daunting task to complete up to 2.55 story and get ilvl 110

There was a SMN player on Fenrir years back who, every time they summoned an Avatar, would announce "(avatar name)! I need your help!"

Then when they dismissed, they'd follow it up with "Thanks (avatar name)!"

Keep in mind that this was back in the days of summon-buff-release, so in a party situation, you'd see this constantly.

Yeah I read that one lol, I also like the housing bitching saying that only rich people can afford it

My friends and I are not rich at all, we just actually SPENT TIME FARMING for a few months and made enough for the large. If these people did the same they'd be able to buy some sort of house.

Sure, small houses on Balmung cost what, 30-40 mil? It's a lot but it's doable with a few people if they really want a house. Otherwise they'll just have to be quick on new housing release days.


Edit: Apparently the one I read was a gatherer/crafter on the OF who didn't want to do combat quests for MSQ and was pissed lol

This I kinda agree with, next expansion should be a standalone expansion that doesn't require you to do storyline up to that point but for now it's really not that much to get through.

A lot of them *** about not being let in to get the jobs but it wouldn't make sense story wise if they did that

I'm sure a lot of the job quests will comment on your previous MSQ stuff too

FFXIV is crazy linear, progression wise. Why would anyone think they could skip steps to begin with?

Speaking of WoW due to fan outrage they decided to add flying in the current exp pack but you need to do a bunch of achievement stuff first before you unlock it.

So now people aren't bitching about no flying but about how flying is going to ruin the game.
