why don't you have automatic updates disabled?
I do... I also had to edit the registry to separate the shut down and shutdown and update buttons. Used to piss me off. When I log off, I'm going to bed, updates can piss off, especially 4 hour ones.
never seen a 4 hour update since XP...

I just usually lock the screen when I'm going to bed, but I should look into that, as it would be nice to have at times.

and I also had a $5 promo credit from a *** up from amazon, so it was $20 cheaper.

yeah, I've had prime now for two years and don't regret it at all, pretty much pays for itself.

I'd say like 99% of my shopping is through amazon right now
