Yinz ask'd fer it. I used to work at a Deli, so many people buying fancy cheeses. Smoked gouda still my all time favorite.
My favorite cheese as of late are the little ones in the red wax, I think babybel is the brand.

depends, the value is roughly the same, only you get to cut bigger slices at your discretion.
I can buy a block of cheddar for less than the price of 2 packages of the processed ***, and get the flavors and desired cut I want, or cut a similar size, and get just as much from 1 block as I would 2 packages. Edit: you can also get a greater variety of cheeses in the blocks than the processed. Just take that brick of cheese, cut a piece off, and gnaw on it.

Amish place about an hour from me used to sell smoked pepper cheese, no idea what they called it. It was good, good enough to eat by itself.
The blocks you buy have way better taste
