-Excuse me
-- Yes?
-For both of those subs, please don't cut them in half
--Okay
--So you want me to leave them whole?
-Yes
--Okay
Walk back to pick up my sammiches
--oh crap, you didn't want those cut in half?
-Correct
--soo... you want me to make them again?
-Yes please
--You do?
-Yes
I woulda let it slide if she didn't ask me if I wanted her to make them again, but if you're not going to be sincere about it, don't ask; because I will say yes lol
Experiencing this from her side, 95% of the customers don't understand that when submakers get into a groove, there's an autopilot thing our hands turn into. I've personally cut sandwiches wrong before because 1 customer out of the entire day didn't want it cut in half simply because my mind wasn't focused on the sub and only realized it after I made the mistake. I mean, cutting subs allllll day long kinda makes that autopilot thing work wonders...
Usually, I ask if it's ok. If not, no need to ask the same similar question again.
tl;dr
Sometimes it's an honest mistake.
