We dont get too much snow around here. Maybe 4-6 weeks in an entire year. Bucketloads of rain though. But that isnt too bad. The short time when you cant ride it (snow,ice,etc) it's still easy to get around with other stuff. Idk, I just dont understand people and their "different is weird!" mentality :(
Well...yea... to be weird is to differentiate from the norm. Being different thus has a good chance of having you labeled as weird.
Edit: What I'm trying to say, is their thinking is correct in saying it's "weird" but you're looking at the word the wrong way. You as a person decide what connotations "weird" has as a word to you. You can either embrace it or take it as a bit of an insult. I personally use the word weird quite often when noticing things that either don't make sense to me or interest me, it's not bad when coming from my mouth it's a way for me to say "That's odd, lets find out why that is so." or "That's very interesting." However, this doesn't change weird's actual definition.
