I thought I loved pumpkin up until last year when I tried pumpkin soup. It was disgusting and I ended up throwing it out. I guess I was expecting hot, liquid pumpkin pie, but what I got was a squashy flavored soup. Bleh.
I've never tried pumpkin soup. I made pumpkin stew awhile back, but there wasn't actually much pumpkin in it. It was a stew, then it was baked inside a gutted pumpkin so it would get the flavor. Then when you dished up you could take as much pumpkin off the sides as you wanted, or none if you wanted. It was a bit more bland than most stews, which was surprising. I guess it didn't have all the veggies that I'm used to in a stew because the pumpkin was supposed to be the veggie. My husband kind of hated it. And it was a pain to make, not really worth the trouble of wiggling that huge pumpkin in and out of the oven, probably I won't make it again. Bland and troublesome!
But hot dang, I got my grubby paws on another pumpkin chocolate chip cookie recipe, that better be delicious! Mmmmm.
