My grandparents on my dad's side are both Irish, and my grandpa on my mom's side is as well. Since both my paternal grandparents are dead, I'd like something for them. I had considered an anchor and cherry blossoms because my gramps was a sailor and my gran's favorite flowers were cherry blossoms. But I kinda like this one better, it feels like something that's more them AND me instead of just them.
I want it on my right side, but I want to stew on it for a couple years to make sure it's the one. I have to stew on them all for awhile first, at least a year or more.
Then this one for my Nana, the one who was killed just before Christmas. This will probably be the next tattoo I get. It's not the one I've been stewing on the longest, but oh well. One of her favorite flowers was violas, she planted them everywhere. So the heart bouquet of violas would make her happy. She was born in Paris, so I was thinking of something French to go with it, something about "I miss you" in French, but I don't know. This one would go on my ankle. I don't like yellow, so I might try to make the whole thing purple, but keeping the yellow in makes it more realistic I suppose. Still stewing.
Then this one just for me. I am the odd man out of my family, we disagree on absolutely everything and some of us have grown a bit apart. I feel like I've left a lot of childhood stuff behind, and now I'm making my way for myself. I'd like it probably on the inside of my left elbow, just below the elbow. It needs to stew a couple more years.
And I love dogs. They are easily my favorite animal. I would like to take an ink copy of both my dogs' paw prints, probably their front right. I'm not sure where to put it, and it needs to stew. My dogs' prints will be quite a bit smaller than this, but it's a nice example. A few more years' worth of stewing I think, but I will probably get their prints done before that in case anything happens to them. Of course, if something DOES happen to them, I'll immediately be heartbroken and get the tattoo right away.
OOH! And I love books, I wanted to be a librarian when I grew up, books were my best friends in school, and after three schools and three sets of friends, they were the only constant ones. I want this, a tiny version, behind my left ear where it would be hard to see unless you look close. Again, stewing.
