Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

I made a facebook account for my mother so she could keep in touch with her sister in Australia and within 2 days of making the account she had friend requests from people she hadn't spoken to in years and hasn't spoken to since. Seems to be a case of "hey look, I have 10k friends on facebook, I must be popular"

Mine is coming in super slow, good to see the propellers are coming in nicely though.

Twitter has actually been pretty revolutionary on the global scale... the way it's set up has made it exceeding difficult if not impossible for some foreign nations to block incoming and outgoing messages... they did an article about it's impact in Iran not too long ago...

It was also twitter/facebook that united people in Egypt.
Been a few interesting articles with those sites.

Just bugs me that people hang all over celebrities on those site sand in all honest 90% of what they say just sounds pathetically uneducated.

I got Twitter last year for no other reason than keeping up with Pax Prime.
I love that Con and they announce things exclusively on Twitter before during and after about it.

I then kept it into the fall for the presidential debates. Sadly none of my drunken tweets about the democratic party or Mittens made it into the scrolling feed for any of the debates.

I mainly just use twitter for news lol

All this beard talk makes me sad because I have to be clean shaven for my job now =/

...and of course like all the medics I see have a goatee and ***and I'm like wtf, but not gonna try it until I'm off my new hire probation since it is in the damned handbook you need to be clean shaven <.<

Anywho, ( '-')b passed my protocol test and got a shift set. Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday from 2000 to 0800. I was nice and picked the night shift because nobody wants to work them. My partner is most likely gonna be a new hire medic so I'm all "Yay! We can explore North Dallas together~" because neither of us know the area lol.

We're gonna be such an awful team and it is gonna be awesome because she is like the female version of me. I mentioned that the low jack GPS in the truck turns off when you kill the engine and dispatch tends to forget about you, so I think we're gonna get paid to sleep a lot.

the whole internet was created so scientists from cern could share information with each other....and it's now primarily used to share cat videos and pron, so.... twitter devolving into posts about what you are wearing seems about right

Try not to break it again.

Upon further investigation, a belt for the A/C to the box was worn down and the metal in the belt started melting ***. And seeing as that is something we can't see when we check the engine and fluids I got off the hook.

They do say the tire on the other vanbulance is my fault because they found a nail in it... and I'm like "Wtf, because I can totally see a nail on the highway." The back up 510 was on today and one of the regular 510's was a floater today so they both told me "He's full of ***, nothing will happen" when I asked while I was up there.

North Dallas, Farmer's Branch, Addison, Carolton, Plano, and McKinney.

We venture south to the Parkland and big Baylor areas too. But we're private and contracted with HCA hospitals, so all the Medical City places are us (and *** Green Oaks -.-;), like 99% transfers and the odd ALS in McKinney.

Dallas runs their own EMS through Fire, so we technically can't even go lights in sirens in Dallas without Dallas 911 approval.

but I'm really 5'6

:O I'm 6'2" as well... but I'm fat so it just makes me that much bigger.

Never noticed how big I was until this job actually... lots of mirrored doors and ***and I seem so big compared to all the nurses and ***. That and squatting in the back of an ambulance sucks and makes my back hurt if I am back there all day.

Naps are in order so I can sit up late tonight and continue with my Star Trek TNG marathon. :O Start my new shift tomorrow night.
