How much are you looking to spend, Jos? Moore's has cheap suits. It's a Canadian chain I'm sure they have in Alberta or wherever you're from. If you want a high end suit, you need to go to a boutique or something.
I don't even know the ranges but I want decent quality. Doesn't have to be super brands or anything. What do you think a normal stylish basic suit jacket and pants would cost me? Or do the best ones come with ties/shirts as well etc
I am 6'5 so I know the tapering will cost me a lot right?
All suit pants will need to be tailored. They just come in waist sizes, then you have them tailored. Moores will do it free, but to be perfectly honest, it's not the best tailoring job (you will be able to see a slight hem line if you're looking). I reckon since you're a big dude, you won't have a huge selection, but I'm sure they will have something to fit you.
For just the jacket and pants, I'd guess 400ish. They had a loyalty program last time I'd gone which gives you a $50 gift certificate there after every $500 you spend, so you could put that towards a shirt, tie, belt, and shoes. They often have sales too.
Dapper casual wear, IMO, would be a nice pair of jeans that aren't too loose with a polo shirt. I like a more formal looking shoe though. No sneakers or runners.
