Even the horrible horrible evoker's horn is better. If nothing else, go buy an Austere's hat. It looks cooler and it benefits you way more, also cheaper. Seeing Smns in something else besides YYR (can understand, that NM blows with competition) or Austere body. Seriously, the job is cheap as ***, 200k for a -Pep body is lovely. And that's probably the most expensive piece a Smn will EVER get, unless you go for a Serket, even then, omg500k. ><; I hate when people take cheap *** jobs and still are cheap about it.
