Kubo-san Wont Let me be Invisible
Ive just finished reading this.
At first I thought it would be some of those romance where the girl part tries to prank the boy part.
It turned out way more innocent than that.
Through the story, the main cast is around 15 to 17 year, naturally living the every japanese golden era of high school. This story is no exception replaying every single template story from high school romance anyone that read a lot manga knows.
This story dont add a whole lot to the overall archetype. If anything, maybe the main difference from other work in this genre is that the cast seems kinda more childish to their age. Also way more innocent than 99% of high school romances.
So, being that much innocent and childish, turns out things move in a slow peace, as they are basically kids, and are more worried in playing/adapting to their community than looking for love partners.
That makes the ride kinda straight and peacefully. No cliffhangers, no drama, no attempt to revert our expectations. From chapter 1 you expected one thing, and after 140+ chapters, it was delivered without any issue in the way.
To close this, i surely am not the target audience for this. Sometimes too childish, sometimes too much sugar. I never felt challenged in any moment. Still, it wasnt hard to reach the end. Far from being a memorable piece for an old dog like me, still not a bad read.
