Never did like to use twitter much but I made a FFXIAH account since alot of people use it to stay in touch. I see it's increased utility when you are mobile. I will tweet /FFXI[AH]?/ related things.
Aside from that, why not have the mod who's name I forgot, the nice one, and Jae and yourself set up your own individual twitters?
I already have one: http://twitter.com/scragg0x I think Jae is anti-twitter, so we'll see. Cliff has his own account. I will follow any staff with the ffxiah account.
Cliff.. Anye is a guy? She said she was female.. I feel so deceived.
EDIT: Wait, if you don't like twitter, why do you have one? >.>
Cliff is a coder who wrote much of the original back-end auction house mechanics of the site. He is also the "Cliff" who wrote most of Windower. He's a co-founder but hasn't been active on the site for a few years now.
I tend to be anti-twitter personally because I find the signal-to-noise ratio too low to be worth it, but I recognize it as an important medium. Also, I don't like how its limitations in communication (like 140 character limit) bring the rest of internet discourse down through the lowest-common-denominator nature of cross-post feeds.

I think you just burned Twitter. xD Someone get some Aloe for it! :p
Twitter's great, it's just not for me. I can't express myself in 140 characters and I'm not a fan of abbreviated "Twitter speak." But I don't disparage the medium or people who like it.
The problem for me is that these days, people like to cross-feed all their various communication channels. Meaning whatever they say has to fit in the lowest common denominator.
Example: I open my friends' blogs or Facebook pages and see nothing but 500 cross-posts of 140 character tweets. Annoying.

I don't care for either or to be honest! I wanted to create a Facebook at one point just because I wanted to see how many friend request I would get and ignore them. ><
