Anyone else having problems with the game crashing after the update? A friend is getting crashes when he tries to click on play after the update (and no he doesn't have the mouse lag patch)

I've found a Priority Booster, just had a mate test it but I personally haven't, yet.

Similar to XI, when you tab out, XIV auto-sets the priority of the game to Low (basically telling your PC that XIV isn't important, so it uses less resources).

The above keeps it set to Normal even after tabbing out. But of course, not my responsibility if your PC sets on fire.
Just tells me process not found.

You will be to be in the actual game (not character select), as per the instructions included in the zip.

I can't test it myself until Lobby is up and I can get in game.

EDIT:

I did notice, however, a "smooth mouse" option. Hardware Mouse mode? Might be better than patching the EXE after every update, but again, can't test it myself, yet.

Logged into this website here to ask the same question. Ever since today's update I can no longer play. As soon as it gets to the character selection screen the area where characters would load is black and then the game crashes.

Overwrite your .exe with a backup.

Integrated graphics. Old integrated graphics.

Won't run FFXIV.

I cant understand why my GF's new HP wont

It doesn't matter how good your woman's PC is, if you're both using on-board graphics, which you BOTH ARE, then you can't run XIV.

Integrated on motherboard (see motherboard and chipset)

XIV doesn't support this.

So what are my options for The Pavilion?

Can I fit a my Nvidia GTX 460 on it? (I won't know till Monday since its special order)

Right now I don't know as I don't know what the motherboard is like.

If possible, take the side panel off and take a photo of the inside. You can take the panel off whilst it's still on, just don't touch anything inside.

I went ahead and created a site mailbox so my personal account wouldn't get more flooded. E-mails still go to my cellphone, and it refreshes every 5 minutes.

I opened and I did notice the power supply was only 300 wats, so yea would need a new power supply.

I dont know if it supports a graphics card... but i think it does... it has this black slot on the inside thats empty.... ill try to take a picture... brb

300 is probably ample for your current set up, but I'd suggest you pick up a cheap 500 if you're buying a seperate graphics card.

I think I've found your board...

Asus IPIBL-LB

Motherboard Specifications, IPIBL-LB (Benicia)
hp.com said:
Integrated graphics using Intel GMA 3100
*Integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed
Integrated graphics using Intel GMA 3100
Also supports PCI Express x16 graphics cards*

Expansion Slots
One PCI
One PCI Express x16
Two PCI Express x1

The black slot is a PCI-e slot, so you shouldn't have any problem sticking a GTX460 in there (but again, suggest 500w PSU).

But please understand, I can't guarantee this will help and, with XIV going live soon, they might have better support soon.

Thanks im sure that graphics card will definitely affect the game itself, I just found it strange that installer would crash because of graphics compatibility =\

Thanks alot all~
