Well, Since I know at least 6 people I know have been having issues with this(And myself included) I thought maybe a thread/post here for helping with it may help?

That said! Um, Well lets help people with missing parts of there DL(I had this issue twice personally), and then even to the thing crashing before it loads due to an error.

Personally, I have an issue of when I open it, It opens... Oh hell, This is what it does(In order):

PS: I hope these pics work ._.

They did not. On a side note there is an Benchmark thread around here somewhere. It may be a necro-bump but I'd suggest posting it there. You'd also have a lot to compare to in there as well.

From my understanding, the Beta is currently extremely under-coded and runs into brick walls everywhere as-is.

Oh well, makes the full game that much more worth the wait.

The only issue I have with what you said, is this is the benchmark, not the beta. Unless I'm very wrong, they're there own things, right?

If I had beta, I'd spend every waking second on it, not on 11 (as you see in the background in them pics ;P)

The Benchmark itself was done using the coding for the Beta, I assume. My fiance can't get hers to run, are you sure your computer is up to the minimum requirements?

Stupid question from a fairly computer illiterate person: is geforce 9600 considered good nowadays? What would you say is the best video card option for XIV, and how much is it?

I haven't looked into Nvidia cards too much, but unless I'm mistaken, 9600 is technically worse than any GTX card. So theoretically any Nvidia GeForce GTX card should run it. I have dual GTX 260Ms in my laptop and they can do just fine. Otherwise I think the GTX480 is one of the best.

I'm sure some *** computer elitist like Eagleeyes will come in here and tell me exactly how wrong I am but from my fairly mild experience, that's what I think.

Ok, looked threw some chat logs and thought I'd post some small errors and fixes.

If you get the "this application has failed to start because d3dx9_41.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

Go to: http://www.dll-files.com/pop.php?dll=d3dx9_41

If you get the "this application has failed to start because XINPUT1_3.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

Go to: http://www.dll-files.com/pop.php?dll=xinput1_3

This is going to be a killer for you. The Pentium SU series is considered an ultra low voltage implementation with performance to match... You didn't list a videocard, but chances are it's integrated video or a lower end nvidia chipset. This is not likely to be able to run FFXIV, sorry. ; ;

Also in regards to the GTX series from Nvidia... be careful which options you choose. A lot are re-branded from lower end/older models...

If you're looking to play FFXIV in all its graphical glory, you're looking at:

CPU = Athlon II X2 2.8GHZ or better
Phenom II X2
Core i3/i5/i7
(Some of the higher end Core 2 Duo/Quads will do just fine as well.

Videocard = ATI: 3850, 3870, 4850, 4870, 5850, 5870, 5890.
Nvidia: 8800/9800 (same card really), 260, 275, 280, 285, 290, 330(?), 460, 465, 470, 480+

Edit: if you post your laptop model, we can get more info and help you out with any possible solutions. (with an SU Pentium, I'm assuming it's an ultra-portable laptop or nettop/book)

Alright. But a stupid question. How do I find the laptop model? >.>

Small edit: Would it be the other thing on the sticker from when I bought it?

"VGA: Intel CMA 4500MHD
Up to 1244 MB"

Ok, yeah. That means you have the intel 4500MHD videocard. That is an intel integrated chipset. It's not capable of playing FFXIV, on any setting :( ... Sorry Renala, looks like you might need a new laptop or desktop to play 14.

Oh, trust me, I know I need a new compy for 14. Why I've been working my butt off the past few days, and will be for the next few weeks. I just thought I could see if I could gimp this laptop for a few days on 14, if worst comes to worst ;x

What I think it is, is some program needs to be upgraded. I read in another post someplace that someone had this issue and they had to upgrade something(Directx? Something that all games use) and then it worked.

I'm getting the same error with the following

Intel i7 Q720
6GB ram
windows 7 Home
ATI Radeon mobility HD 5870

Any ideas why it would give that stopped working message, or did I just screw up the install....
