Does the boss in any given chamber cause the regular monsters to link with it if close?

And, is it normal to attempt the boss before all the regular monsters are dead (because of time getting low)?

Doesn't matter you need to clear all enemies for chest.

Usually my shell takes all the lesser monsters first. Its nasty having all your dds weakened due to a bad fight with the boss. However that said there are sometimes where you just have no choice but to do the boss first.

Example:
King Behemoth + Worms

Boss never links with reg mobs.
