When do equipment bonuses process on spellcasting exactly?

I understand the general rule of equipping before casting, but can you switch to something else during casting (while the character is doing his/her casting pose), or on the actual cast animation (when the spell lands and you see the spell's graphical effect)?

For now, I've always kept the equipment on until after the spell's actual animation is over and done with and I see the damage/effect in my log.

I hope I iterated that question correctly...

Fast Cast goes through when the Spell begins casting (so equip Before).

Fast Cast's timer reduction effect kicks in at the end (so keep this on at the end if you're looking for a lower timer).

Skill+/MAcc kicks in at the end, so put it on at any point before it casts.

MAB+/INT+/MND+/CHR+ kicks in at the end, so put it on at any point before it casts.

Example:

BLM casting Thunder IV.
Start with Loquacious Earring & Warlock's Mantle (if you really want the 4% Fast Cast effect >_>) then swap out to Rainbow/Prism/Ixion/Whatever cape and INT+/MAB+ earring when you're casting (before your Thunder IV goes off).

WHM casting Cure V.
Start with Cure Clogs on then swap out to Errant/Mahatma/Blessed feet in the middle (slightly more annoying because of the cast time of Cure 5) to get maximum effect.

RDM casting Utsusemi.
Start in AF Hat, AF2 Body, Loquacious Earring and keep them on for the full cast to get -22%(?) Casting time and -11% Recast Time.

RDM casting Blizzard III.
Start in AF Hat, AF2 Body, Loquacious Earring and swap them out for Errant Body (or whatever your nuking piece is) and INT+/MAB+ earring.

You won't get the "Haste" effect of Fast Cast due to them not being on, but you will cast sooner because they were on at the start.

Items such as Yigit Gomlek, that have Song Spellcasting time- will (shockingly) only reduce the Casting Time of BRD Songs and won't affect the recast timer of them.

I've prolly skated right around the question, let me know if I have and I'll try to be more useful XD

it·er·ate (t-rt)

To say or perform again; repeat.

you hope you repeated it correctly?

that doesn't make sense

To simply answer the question and try to keep this from going way out of hand into yet another troll thread. The animation is the "last" thing the game does in regards to the spell. The damage and everything has already taken place before the animation has finished. So after the spell is actually cast you can put on whatever gear you want. It will have no effect on your spell. Also as someone did point out you can start out wearing something else (fast cast gear for example) and switch to the gear that will actually effect the potency of a spell before it ends.

I can't even be on the forums without being jerked around. And people wonder what I ever mean by "being accepted".

Thanks for that bit of data, Hitetsu and Torazalinto. At least there are some cordial souls left in the world. If you don't like me, why even bother opening my threads? "Oh look, it's Dramanue, lulz. Let's poke fun at him."

when you respond to posts you don't like by quoting them and bolding the misspellings and grammatical errors

it's probably safe to assume your own posts are going to be put under a magnifying glass

and you know what? let's be honest here. I'm pretty sure you're not a writer. see, i was a writer(a journalist for 6 years) and it annoys the hell out of me when people who aren't writers abuse the term.

If you're a writer, i'd like to see something you've been paid for. Otherwise you are a dude who reaches above his vocabulary in a desperate attempt to appear smarter than he is.

The only reason people picked about his grammar, was because he picked apart other peoples grammar in a different thread.

I pick it apart when those who are posting are being jerks. I tend to ignore bad grammar when the posts are actually, y'know, helpful. Eye for an eye, my ensimpsonated fiend [sic].

By the way, nice law there. ^_^ I'm still at ends as to who you are siding with: myself or about 90% of the forums' populace.
