Mkris Vs Joy

hi guys,

i have one quick question. atm I have both, joy + kris, but i figured for events like limbus, dyna etc. i’ll most likely be asked to come /whm or /nin just to avoid AOE or for pulling. or maybe as rf in blm pty where i can QD.

only occasion I could use both would be meripo, as cor/nin and joy + kris dual wield. eventho i like /rng more.

For soloing stuff I guess you’ll go QD only and use staves anyway.

Sooo what I wanna know is: in most situations i’ll only be able to use one weapon, so it’s joy or mkris. is mkris worth keeping it or should I just go with joy? asking because I could use the money for other stuff and right now im not quite sure if mkris is a “must-have” if you have a joy as well – and i got no other jobs that could use mkris effectively.

If I were you I would sell the MKris.

I thought MKris is more usable to DRK zergs. If you don't have a DRK why spend so much money on it? I may be wrong, though.

But imo it's not like you'll do much damage on COR aswell (TP on MKris then WS), I think. Leave the heavy damage to the SAMS and do the assist job you're supposed to do.

geared cor's can do a crap ton of dmg against birds :D

well, i like to max out my jobs - but only if it really benefits.

cor can do some nice dmg on birds in merit parties besides just standing there, look pretty and do rolls.

so far i only tried /rng and used RA to get TP > WS which worked quite well.

just wondering cause a lot of CORs seem to use mkris.

I'd sell the M.kris and just use joyeuse with /War or /Rng. Yes Cor has a higher skill in dagger but most prefer the higher dot from joyeuse.With joyeuse you should be able to maintain reasonably high accuracy and of course sword mertis help :p

I think Raen did some quick math on this in another COR thread, look around a bit.

Note said math was under the assumption of 8 Dagger merits!

Basically unless Mkris has a huge advantage (accuracy mainly), Joy is gonna win. So unless you're 8Dagger 0Sword or something, Joy generally speaking.

Joyeuse parse better.
I dont have any parses from when I used to merit on COR anymore, but Joyeuse allways parsed better than mkris, and I had 4 dagger merits at the time.
Meriting more on SAM these days, people with mkris just *** piss me off, as the birds spam feather tickle way more >_> lol
