I forgot I did this, but a while back I subbed Dark Knight. For Occult Acumen. Seriously.

We were fighting WoC and I felt my tp generation was too slow with just Tacticians. I was thinking about my sub job and realized that it didn't matter that much. Healing was a non-issue, I was essentially just doing rolls and waiting for TP to Open RLB for Gravitation. So for fun I went out and made an Occult Acumen build for COR. Bio II is the best spell for TP. With an 11 Samurai roll I was getting 60tp per Bio II, effectively doubling my TP generation. The base recast of Bio II is so low you can essentially just spam it. With my refresh vorseals, MP was never an issue either.

It's pretty worthless for a lot of scenarios, but being able to drop in those magical WS to open or close chains with the SCH is a useful boon to a group. Probably not worth using on a lot of stuff, but it worked quite well for WoC.

Please use the ws dmg calculator on last page. It's hard to figure out which gear is better unless we know mob mdb or your current agi and mab.

But in general carmine +1 > leyline for ws and qd. It's 12 agi 42 mab v.s. 5 agi 30 mab so there's no comparison.

Body is 29 agi 35 mab v.s 23agi 42 mab. My eyeballed result is carmine body wins as well.

Sorry, I just noticed that I forgot to mention that AF body may be worth 119 for preshot set when you're over capping snapshot with flurry 2. It's 16 rapid shot which is quite high for just 1 slot.

I'd still keep the leyline gloves around if you need more Macc in your set since they have macc+33 vs 0 and it's not a massive drop in agi/MAB in the grand scheme of things. Both carmine pieces ***over the other two though for pure damage.

I haven't seen this posted anywhere, apologies if it was:
Naturalist's Roll:
Base Lucky: +17%
Base 11: +20%
GEO grants +5% bonus.
Roll Power grants +1% per point.

Like all other stuff, it's multiplicative separate from armor and perpetuance. So you could have some serious durations for SCH buffs.

Huge? =p what do you mean? I don't quite get your question. Are you asking how to pop higher number with last stand?

Any enhancing magic you guys think it's worth popping this roll for? Embrava? Emboldened protect? Or accession storm II spells in blm setup so it last entire fight?

WSD is roughly equal to 3-3.5 MAB, so yeah WSD would destroy.

Looking at the possible augment in Ambuscade thread, I guess this should be the augment that's useful for COR?

WF/leaden:
AGI+20, Mac/MDmg+20, WSD+10%

Change AGI to INT for aeolian edge I guess?

Savage Blade:
STR+20, Acc/attk+20, WSD+10%

This back piece is god like for savage blade btw.

Evisceration:
DEX+20, acc/attk+20, crit-hit rate +10

Last stand:
AGI+20, racc/rattk+20/WSD+10

/ra tp accuracy(ranged dps focus):
AGI+20, racc/rattk+20/crit-hit rate +10

/ra tp accuracy(stp focus):
AGI+20, racc/rattk+20/store tp +10

Note that snapshot +10 augment may* have a use in pre-shot set if you have 1 piece of hq adhemar leg or feet.

ItemSet 342954

jp:10
hands:8
ring:6
back:10
waist:3
Legs: 10
feet: 8
Body/head slot are for rapid shot gears. That makes snapshot hitting 70 cap with flurry 1, without having to sacrifice weapon slot for snapshot dagger.Kinda lame that even with both legs/feet HQ it's not possible to hit 70 with yemaya belt and flurry 1, would be at 69 ;/

Melee tp:
DEX+20, acc/attk+20/store tp or DA+10

(maybe DW if sacrificing certain DW gear slot, such as adhemar body to herc body....but I haven't look into that)

Other augments:
I see cure potency being useful for /WHM, /RDM and /SCH. It's possible to hit cure potency cap on COR with DM herc gear augments without cure potency augment JSE cap, but gl getting the right augment on herc.

Waltz potency may be useful for /DNC as well, or FC for /mage or /NIN.

Edit: I forgot about requiescat- MND +20, attk/acc+20, DA+10 I think?

Test wasn't perfectly conducted, but suggests flurry could be as low as 11%. Tests have indicated snapshot may cap at 80% as well, despite what SE said. Until someone puts the time into testing all these variables, I'd at least keep taeon body or head to be sure of cap.. rapid shot procs often won't even save you a packet cycle at high snapshot.

So since you only get 1 cape "for now" I was thinking of going:

AGI+20, Racc/Ratt+20, WSD+10%. This would function as BiS for LS/WF/LS and shooting.

Is it 1 cape month or something? Or it's just not possible to get more than 1?

Also I suppose it's possible to carry 1 stack of augment item and just redo the augment whenever you need them?

You can only get 1 cape per job this month. System seems setup to allow the purchase of multiple capes down the line, but the limit is one cape this time around.

Is it confirmed that it's possible to get more than 1 next month? Because it'll be a very tough choice if we can only get 1 in the end. At least it'll be a tough choice between wf/leaden cape and savage cape...both are very powerful and useful WS. I feel the other capes are skippable though. Racc cape is nice, but anything we have trouble getting tp on we probably won't go DD anyways(it's blms job), or we can just use wing rotation.

Besides leaden/wf/Savage other WS are quite situational IMO.

It's not confirmed and won't be until next month. My bet is they either increase the cap on capes or they do neck/belt/etc. My theory is they'll do something like new Skadi + necks next month, then Marduk + belts after, etc. until they're done salvage sets. Then they'll rinse/repeat with higher caps on capes.

Hey guys, I've returned to the game after 4 years away and geared up a bit, the guide has really helped

I play sort casual low-man with some old friends in this game.

What I want to know is if people think Deahtlocke is "worth it" now that its augmentable. I dont see myself getting a Molybdosis/DP/Arma any time soon. Probably not Doomsday either. I picked up the Deathlocke as a stopgap but now I wonder if I should just settle into it for a longer run. I have access to both Leaden Salute and Wildfire. (I know Last Stand sucks on it)

I would also like to ask just how much of an effect do people feel from Pixie+1. I have the money to afford it but I am apprehensive. Any comments?

Thank you very much for any help.

First of all, wb! :)

For any questions about how to gear wf/leaden, it's probably easier/faster to use WF/leaden calculator from last page:

https://docs.zoho.com/file/n7dt9737650532eb84988a9ce4192efd00fff

(BTW, Is it possible for someone, such as a moderator or Seha to put it on the first page so ppl can find it easily on the first page and don't need to ask similar question once a while?)

I can't tell you if spending gil on Deathlocke is "worth it" or not, because it's pretty subjective and it depend on your options. But if you don't have plans to get legendary just yet, and don't have a group that spams AV2, it may be a pretty good option that doesn't need to deal with doomsday random augment.

Alternatively you can try to get an augmented Holliday, if I remember correctly you can get some MAB on it, AND it's great for last stand.

pixie +1 is pretty much a must have for leaden, too good, especially when you have buffs from GEO. You can probably get away with herc head mab augment, but with GEO buffs pixie +1 should still pull ahead.

Maybe body for rapid shot when you're over capping snapshot with flurry 2.

And if you're into /whm sort of things maybe legs for +mp build? Although I just use refresh legs for cor/whm so it's not a must have for /whm.

Everything else I can't think of a use for them atm.

I was actually coming here to ask about Pixie +1 as well. Would a Herc helm augmented with 17 or more MAB be better than Pixie? I would think it must be, but is there something about the "Dark" MAB that makes it better? The Herc helm could also potentially have AGI and/or WSD, and good for WF too. What am I missing here?

Pixie hairpin+1's dark magic attack is elemental affinity and works differently in the damage calculations, for example I have a herc helm with 35 magic attack augment I use for QuickDraw and pixie+1. My last test was about 500-600 damage more on leaden salute with pixie+1

Herc helm could win, if you have very high mab augment and wsd on it. Checking my excel, it shows that 40 mab and 5 wsd augment beats pixie +1 with nq malaise(malaise favors pixie+1). But if you only have mab but not wsd, even with 50 mab augment pixie still gonna win.

Also, your leaden set should be separate from wf set. Leaden has higher AGI mode than WF, thus they should be geared differently. Some gear that's good for leaden may not be good for wf.

Thanks again for the replies, that cleared up some questions I've had about gearing for COR WS's. They still generally confuse me though, it seems like a lot of stats can affect COR Magic and Physical WS. For example, do RAcc and RAtk have an effect on LS and Wildfire? If they do, what sort of effect do they have in comparison to Magic Accuracy, Magic Damage, etc. I would guess that Racc helps the WS to land in the first place and then Macc is used in magic resist calculations, but how about ratk? I'm wondering what to prioritize, although to be clear I'm not thinking of prioritizing either of those stats over magic oriented ones.
