Atheling Mantle for sure, Rajas over Airy, any ammo would be better... preferably thunder satchet. The gloves are counter productive, not sure what PLD has available, but you don't want those. Centaurus over Ethereal. Cuculain's Belt?

No, not at all. Rajas ring, Atheling mantle, thunder satchet, centuarus earring, hecatomb/+1 hands, cuchulain's belt, rancor collar if you can cap tonberry hate.

Atheling mantle, Cuch Belt, Those hands are disgusting x:, use Hecatomb or Perle instead, Snow Gorget, also Why no Rajas?

which Atma set up do you guys find to be the best, not just for CDC but overall dmg?
I've toyed with RR/Apoc/VV, RR/Apoc/Omni, RR/Apoc/SS, RR/Apoc/GH and find RR/Apoc/Omni to be the most impressive (although rr/apoc/ss really does give some nice spikes here and there)
Thoughts?

RR/GH/Apoc would be my guess, coming from MNK NIN and DNC perspective though.
By Blazed1979 2011-08-09 17:27:19
yeah i don't use anything else on mnk or nin unless im on proc duty.
50 dex though from omnipotent. Does it trump GH?

RR/A&O/Apoc is your true "best" option if you can swing it, given that A&O is technically a better DPS atma than Apoc. For setups aiming for RR/Apoc and a third, non-A&O atma, SS and GH are almost identical. RR/GH/SS is slightly behind those setups. Omnipotent isn't really worth considering, maybe if you need accuracy but with Enlight I don't see that being much of an issue. There's not much you can do with the 10% gear haste it provides really.

thanks Night. Will try out A&O

About A&O Atma; would it not be better to use Stronghold? -25% HP is a nice chunk of your health. If you get triple attack from apoc. isnt that enough? Just curious not doubting or anything. I wanna learn too!!

Attack+40 isn't nearly as valuable as GH or SS, so if you can't deal with the hp-25% in whatever situation you find yourself in you'd be better off switching to one of those two atmas than Stronghold.

I would think that Atma of the Lion would easily replace A&O in any tanking situation. you wouldnt lose the HP, you gain PDT-10%. Only losing 50attack from A&O but when tanking it makes more sense to go this route.

Browsing this thread, I see a lot of twilight in the sets. I'm looking for a cheap, quick CDC set to get a new player started. Any ideas?
Probably start off with something like this?:

How does TP Bonus Moonshade Compare to other pieces for CDC? I've been using Aesir wasnt sure if I should be using that or the Moonshade.

Could add lithe boots to that, they are cheap and good for CDC.

Anguinus or Elemental belts are going to outperform Cuch unless your food is supporting your accuracy/you don't need it. This is especially true outside, and no, Abyssea isn't instant 95%.
Someone asked about Rancor, again it's good if you don't need the accuracy but missing swings on CDC hurts more than not critting them (obviously).

If you don't have capped gear haste in TP set, like me, then Omnipotent is a valid option (allows wearing Twilight Helm for TP).Personally, I find the Dmg. too variable by over stressing triple attack atmas inside abyssea. I found a very consistent Dmg. output for CDC with RR,Omni, and either VV or SS depending(prefer VV for the regain).
Still working on a real Almace so can toss this cheap WOE fakie, lol. Missing the Hecatomb legs, hands as well. Not sure but will Lithe boots beat Heca. feet with a total of STR +8,DEX +3,and Attack +4?

Cap gear haste and use a better atma.

My LS has more than 50 members in it. Theres a long line of people vying for nearly everything. It's simply not that easy to just go get stuff I want. Besides, wearing Twilight helm during tp keeps my Dot high as well.

Also, not that it's any excuse for you to be your terrible garbage self or anything, but you do realize we can all see how many people are in your linkshell yes?

Think you need to sign up for ffxiah and add the LS for it to actually show that you're in it.

Yes, he's still completely misguided on gear/atma choices and probably should be playing a different game, but that number is just the number of people who have added the linkshell on FFXIAH, which is usually a lot lower than the number in the linkshell.
There's plenty to criticize on this fool without being wrong, so yeah.

Even then it would require people to use LSC, for which a lot of people just don't bother registering.
For example, my shell is usually trying to figure out who can stand to sit out of Voidwatch because we have too many people, but only 6 people show up on FFXIAH.
Updated PLD CDC Sets 5/22/13.
Current Set:
ItemSet 207022
Desired Set:
ItemSet 286085
Ideal Set II (easier obtainable gear then desired set)
ItemSet 295814
Hecatomb Mittens +1 best augments would be Crit Damage +4% and Sword Skill +4 and accuracy +6
Hecatomb subligar +1 best augments would be Crit hit rate +4, accuracy +7, and subtle blow + 4
Alternative feet that would be better then Karieyh sollerets, but not as good as augmented Huggin Gambieras are Valkeries Sabatons augmented with Crit hit rate +3, and Crit hit Damage +5%.
