How many of these do we have to see in a week before people realize, you can only have ONE of the crafts mentioned below @110 with a maxmimum subcraft of 70 on the same character at one time.
To my best knowledge you may have the following;
Example shown below:
Main Craft: 110
All others crafts: 70
Fishing: 110
Synergy: 80
One of the following: (110MAX)
*Alchemy
*Bonecraft
*Clothcraft
*Cooking
*Goldsmithing
*Leathercraft
*Smithing
*Woodworking
the following: (110MAX)
*Fishing
and lost but not least:
*Synergy (Which currently is capped @80.)
For example: If you are Smithing(100),Leathercraft(70) and you wish to be Leathercraft(71). STOP!!! Do NOT attempt to go any further and DO NOT turn in the test item to go past the rank of Craftsman on your sub-crafts. Read below first!
The following is true if all your sub-crafts are at max level also. I do think you are allowed to have a craft at 100 and subs passed 80 but there is a maximum amount of craft levels you may distribute among your crafts if you choose to do this route.
If you synth something that gives you a chance at skill-up on your sub-craft after attaining artisan, and you gain Lv.71, your 100+ craft will immediately de-level to 70. So please think twice before you turn in your guild rank item.
Feel free to correct me as the information above is to the best of my knowledge, I'll update this with better information if and whenever possible. Thank you and you're welcome!
I thought everyone knew this. I didn't know that the game would instantly delevel you from 100 to 70 though, what the *** kind of logic is that? I always assumed that it would just deduct points from your max crafts as another one went up, that would be punishment enough, given the kind of recipes needed to push crafts to 110 these days.

Yeah man that's exactly what I assumed would happen. Glad I wasn't the one to find out first-hand, greedy as that may sound. Seen more than a couple posts the last week or so of people who this has happen to. D'oh! Dunno if that should be post for not doing their research though ha.
The way I thought it worked is you can have your main craft at 108 and give 2 points to another craft example: 108 Smithing 71 leather 71 goldsmithing. Am I wrong?
People do this to be able to make money more than just have a craft to a certain level. I believe there are ways to raise the tier 1 of sub crafts without messing with caps. Example gathering the gear or torques while still being able to Tier one on main craft.

It used to work like that. And once you went over, your highest craft went down 0.1 at a time as you gained skill on the other craft (I deleveled bone a few levels when I realized I need leather apron for some synth or other to HQ well). This sounds like a big glitch. :/
I have Clothcraft at 72 and Smithing at 70. I'll hop on the test server later and turn in the Smithing test item to see if I can get more insight into how this is working.
ok i am not 100% sure.. but a few years ago i first started with WW, i had it at 71(i think), all other crafts below 60. Then i decided to level BC instat. And once i handed in guild test item to raise cap on BC over 60 my WW got deleveled to 60. There was some warning written that this would happen. As i said i am not 100% sure if it really was like that :x maybe i just mix stuff up and this is just what i thought would happen but the -0.1 stuff others said actually happened lol
I am at leather 106, i had no problem turning my smithing item in and leveling it to 71, and my leather is still 106.
If this is true then maybe it's because people just don't read and just spam enter. At first I thought it was a bug for level 100+ because I have no problem leveling other crafts past 70 for my smithing which is under 100, so that can't be true if you were able to do this.
Deleveling my main craft 1 month ago. I had Goldsmithing @ 100 and all subs @ 60-65 and thought Cooking can be reached to 100, similar to Fishing. After I reached 80 on cooking my GS went down to 99 and when you talk to the main NPC @ a craft it asks you to choose a main craft, unfortunately I didn't know what I was doing and chose to make Cooking my priority due to the fact thinking it could go to 100 without deleveling my GS and it went from 99 to 70 and got locked.
Asked a GM if he could put it back to 100 and replied with "We can't reverse anything that you have made as a choice." and bam. So I'm deciding to level Smithing to 100 instead now since GS is useless.
I don't think it just delevels anything. Every report I've seen talked to the NPC that asks you to select a craft, which caps off the others. If anyone can speak to the contrary, it'd be good to know for sure.
i guess there is a way to make the npc to cut down your high level craft (lets say 100) to subcraft level (70) and he will tell you about this and you can choose to say "ya go for it" and a way to not do this?
it should be also possible to have 2 crafts at 90 or even 4 at 80, the way i understood the system is that you can have 40 skillpoint over subcraft level, split into whatever crafts you want.
I believe at one point there was a glitch that when you handed in your test item for another guild that you were *** slapped down to to 70 on your main. This has been fixed. I just unlocked two +70's and I'm 103 on my main.
he never understood how crafting works...just bought mats...overpricing ***cause he had the gil and crashing the market later on...with no idea how HQing works...

How do you need to know how to HQ? You gather materials and you point a certain direction on a certain day on a certain moon phase, that is if that's what you believe in. I like gooooooooooooold, if people will pay for it, it's not over-priced in my book. Supply and demand!
