You don't really need guides anymore. Take a look at the recipes and basically pick whatever is easiest and cheapest. It's generally a good idea to skill up on things that cap 4 levels above your skill (ex. skill lv 50, max rexipe level for skill up 54) This is working for me anyway, almost done with all subs to 70

P. much that^

You can skill on a much bigger gap than 4, though anything above 5 won't skill up on breaks. Consider cost of mats vs increased break rate/lower skill rate. If you can't figure out your skillup recipes by yourself, you're gonna have some difficulty making your craft profitable anyway.

Protip - that has always been the case anyway!

Seriously though, be aware that this site doesn't have all recepies listed any more, basically you might have to do some forum trawling to discover "new" items that have been introduced since the guides were written, which I'm guessing was your point.

I'm rambling, in short, no "that" guide doesn't exist at all, will require some groundwork I'm afriad.

If a syth 10 levels ahead of you is cheaper than ones before it, by all means try it on days/moons that go into your favor.

Don't forget to face North, and only try it on a day that starts with a "w" etc etc

In other words, use whatever superstitions make you happy! But Artisans Advantage probably a good idea if you are trying that.

Plus you can get the random .4 skill up if the gap is big enough.

Keyword - anymore. The old guides were good for when not as many recipe skill caps were known.

BG wiki recipe lists are mostly up to date. I have a bit more work to do on smithing+goldsmithing.

in all honesty its gonna be hard to skill up sense everything is expensive now. i did heavy darksteel axe tell i was high enough to do adaman then imp wootz with all the skill + you can get and hope for the best. yeah its not the ideal path but its whatever works for you. plus khroma ore drops so often from abyssea easy to farm if you are doing weapons or what not.
