Samurai Gear Improvements

What I'm using now:

21% Haste, 13 StoreTP

21% Haste, 39 StoreTP


Samurai is fairly far down my list of To-Do's. I haven't kept up with the job too much, aside from keeping it leveled and skills capped. I don't even remember how much StoreTP I need to make sets work.

My first guess would be I have way too much StoreTP in the improved set. And suggestions will include zelus tiara, and bullwhip belt

I've got asa-arashi but again I'm sure there are better non-Emperion/WoE great katanas out there. Which other Trials weapons would be worth using?

the tp bonus keito +2 is pretty easy to make, and it's got a high delay so it's pretty easy to gear around. if you don't want to do magian at all, kikugosaku might be your best bet.

That's what i get for looking at my old gearset and trying to upgrade from memory of what other crap i have lying around that my Sam could use.... It was a Blood Ring before so about the same as no ring or one I can't use.


I don't mind doing Trials, I just don't think I'll be doing advanced trials for Samurai. Katana, H2H and Shield are on my bandwagon list right now so GTK would be a few months down the road.

for a ring, you can build around hoard or use keen ring i guess if you have enough stp elsewhere. or oneiros if you have mp merits.

Think it should be noted again, I don't remember/know how much StoreTP I need as far as building around Hoard Ring... and I'm doing full MP merits so Oneiros is as good as anything else, Keen just seems "meh" in terms of total value for the slot I look at it and feel there has to be something better.

there's really not much in terms of ring for sams; you're right about keen ring being "meh," but it doesn't get access to blitz or epona's. how much store tp you need depends on the weapon you plan to use, so it depends on whether you're going after a kikugosaku, keito+2, or just going to stick with what you have, since all three have different delays.

Well ... once upon a time I knew where a table was that included weapon delay and storeTP required to hit X-hit given a 450 delay weapon. I can't say I ever bothered learning how it worked aside from look at table - make it work.

Given StoreTP V (35) and Merits (10) how much additional storeTP should I be looking for a 5-hit with

Keito+2
or Asa-arashi?

but those numbers will be a little lower if you ws in store tp gear.

Also, Onerious ring latent is when mp is over 100, so would need 10 MP merits

This is my current set up, not that hard to achieve

Kikugosaku / Claymore / Thew
Zelus / Agasaya / Brutal / Centarus
Unkai +2 / Dusk +1 / Rajas / Keen
Atheling / Bullwhip / Ace's

Gives stp 34 which allows you to ws in no stp gear, even though some of your better ws pieces have stp on, so really could get away with the -4stp from Ace's hands
26% haste
8% DA

Could swop in unkai back for atheling depending on how the new zanshin update works

Even with unaki +1 you still have 26% haste and 29stp wich is enough to ws in no stp

gives 21 TP per hit 19 on WS

i do know that Kikugosaku SAMs have more flixibility to 5 hit while maximizing haste, i can use Ace's mufflers but would drop my true 5 hit, and no i dont have the sTP mantle from the antlion NM

@OP you can get Ace's leggings for that extra 1% haste.

if you geared the same with Kikugosaku you can get 25.2 TP per hit, dont think its enough to true 4 hit but its close, i am not saying you should gear this way, i gear like this coz of my play style on SAM, which i rarely do anyways

I assume you don't have Rose Strap and White Tathlum?

This is what I use. Cap haste, 5-hit (4-hit+WS).

Debatably better than Unkai Kabuto +2 and Atheling Mantle. Attack+35 DA+3% vs. Haste +2%.

This is what I'd use if I didn't have my Masamune. Not much more to it, Kikugosaku is pretty much always a 5-hit.
