Just hit Level85 Here doing frogs, those little *** we're evasive at first but it seemed like once I leveled up they became very squishy. Until 85 I honestly Penta Spammed with some nice results though it caused me to sponge mp alot more then I liked. I didn't really have any attack buffs and Penta thrust averaged about 900ish. Spiking 1k+ when berserk was up along with acc/attack drinks.

Parsed about 18% of total damage done through out the alliance.

Once my level and merits we're capped I headed back to town/spent merits and subbed Ranger. (Yes Ranger people say its dead)

Oh god it was fun, granted people may say Polearm is better which might be true. But I ended up parsing higher then I did previously

Some how I jumped up to 32% of total damage done. My R.Accuracy was so-so about 85% hit rate.

Pretty much this was my Sidewinder set. I figure if we're stuck here at 85 Until next Level Increase, Atleast in the first set of Abyssea camps /RNG can be Viable just as a Polearm build. Thoughts and opinions though?

Why did this job combo fade away again?

It faded away because it takes too much time and money for most to excel in, for too little improvement over even a normal GK or PA build.

Honestly, the percent damage you parse means nothing without listing the other members who where there and their gear. Or listing your gear for that matter.

Well normally what you would expect in a Pick Up Group lol... any DD Full Perle Full time without any X hit build is going to be crushed. But I mean it was pretty fun I must say. Also it's neat looking into Evoliths for a Shigeto Bow.

I'm just enjoying SAM over all, it's nice that they can utilize different weapons efficiently.

Edit: Also yeah I agree on getting RNG to 85 it can be costly but what you can buy from Cruor kinda offsets ammo costs. Still need me a damn Siege Bow :P

Were you able to skill up to cap as an 85 in the frog(or any old abyssea) camp?

Give me a factual reason too. I would like to see some math and parse results on why.

Also to get to cap you most likely have to exp/skill up at Scar's of Abyssea zones the monsters seem much stronger.

In one of your prior posts, you stated you did 18% of all total damage in an Abyssea alliance as SAM/RNG.

In that situation, I've done 25-30%~ roughly before on my 0/8 katana, non-Suppanomimi Ninja before: Does that make 0/8 katana non-Suppanomimi Ninjas better than Samurai using /RNG?

i was in the old abyssea yesturday and day before. and i was skilling up on bats very fast. but on mandies it took forever to get skill ups with scythe. end of both days my GA 323 and my GS 290 scythe 273 lol. and not every DD wears perle. i surely do not.

But they do wear Ace's Helms in situations where they're capping accuracy.

Be back later if this silly thread's still going on by then.

LOL, I haven't played SAM in a long time but seems like ace's helm is getting less and less useful by the time. Or it's probably just the people who like eating pizza. IONNO!

Wait, you mean you didn't use full perle /rng? I thought... all melees in Abyssea had to use full perle?!

Alternatively: Based on the topic's title. I like to spam Meikyo and steal restore chests to solo my own mobs.

I didn't list the actual parse so sue me. I was stating it is a pretty fun combo in Abyssea once your capped. the 18% was with Polearm on some so-so people the 32% was with SAM/RNG the 2nd time. Internet tough guys isn't afraid of anything is he?

I asked for people's similar experiences not some borderline insulting opinions. I really do want to post some results with some decent to well geared DDs and see where it stands.

5 hit Polearm build? I have that, including merits to go with it. Am I crazy to say spamming Penta for 2-3 hours gets boring though?

Edit: I can also say in my opinion when I switched sub jobs the DDs got a bit gimp. But parsing that high over all was just extremely sad.

Either way if we had everyone here worth their salt it would be a good party. Considering what I went through yesterday, if I'd be proven wrong no harm no foul. It's just good to know something nice for shits and giggles can still put out some respectable damage.

You cant use sam/rng in abyssea because it`s against the rules, you have to sub what everyone else is, and wear the same gear as everyone else, otherwise you`re doing it wrong.

/rng might be fun, but having fun on a game isn't tolerated my the elite.
