Perle Set Vs "Standard" Sets

This is just a comparison of the Perle 6hit sets vs the Standard 6hit sets.

Preface:

- If you do not own Rose Strap, your best bets are the Aurum or Askar builds.
- This does not include the possibility of new items or Dusk Gloves +1. I will note if the Dusk Gloves +1 change something though.
- If using Love Halberd, full Perle.
- Perle is confirmed to give 1% more Haste than printed on the English client.

Homam vs Perle: no competition. Perle stomps it unless you are REALLY dying for accuracy (Perle Brayettes, but this is the point where you shouldn't be meleeing).
Askar vs Perle: Perle wins.
Ares vs Perle: Perle wins.
Aurum vs Perle: Perle.
Nocturnus vs Perle: Perle wins.

Ok I see where you're getting at. Are we just talking about PLD or something though? I know SAM can get to 20% haste fairly easily (if I have it, it must be easy... lol)



Now it's 19% if you use Askar helm. But with walahra turban it's 20% haste.

Now if you added swift belt to the perle set you'd have 17%.

At least the multi hit polearms make it easy to reach "6hit". A white tathlum to the rescue!

Nice job, I'm glad you put in the effort there to show lazy people like me who dont feel like looking it all up one by one. Now to just wait for the whole set to be purchasable under 1m, as it will soon enough.

Yah, I included Rose Strap in the other sets for simplicity.

I might have to finish my dragoon just to put this set to good use. Especially since it's already dirt cheap.

FYI wardens that is only a 7 hit set, askar head is useless, and wtflightningbow

Rose strap is easy to get, and so is this set. Pretty awesome for drg, makes me wish I had leveled the job lol.

I've heard although received no confirmation yet that Perle actually has 1% more Haste (on the head specifically) than advertised.

Meaning it is ALWAYS the best TP set for DRG assuming you don't have any new drops which go into the Head/Body/Hands/Legs/Feet and are amazing.

Apparently the JP translation on this site lists 3% as well. Not sure about other languages. Should be easy to test but my Perle jobs are still 76 :s.

Yeah I didn't mean to post about SAM in a DRG forum. My bad. But I have +14 stp on my rindo. And yes I do have a hagun now, in which case I sometimes use hachiman hands instead of dusk. Then I only have 16% haste though. Eh, I got tired of using walahra turban. I don't even know how long I used that. So I just want to try something different. But I need to do alot of updating with all of this near gear that came out. I want goading belt for starters.

Well, so many people have been asking this lately and I keep seeing the answers that "old set you're using is better", etc etc, that I figured I would run the sets past each other and post the results here, so everyone can clearly see them and not just rely on word of mouth.

Drg and drk are the only job that benefits from full perle.

Due to it matching Turban/homam setup for a drg and giving youa good dex/atk/acc setup.

Anything else shouldnt even think about it.

on the pearle salade's item page, tempeleshine says she's tested it with recast timer and found it to be 3%

not sure if that counts as full conformation, but the consensus seems to be leaning toward it being 3% haste

Actually, WAR is pretty close too, because of Aurum Sabatons only giving 2% Haste instead of 3%. The haste difference is only 1%.

and why pray tell should a paladin not even think about it

Homam has more HP and MP. And Fast Cast on pants. That's better for tanking, I guess.

you're not limited to one set of gear

can macro in homam for flash/shadows/etc. and still atonement spam in pearle

and no way some assorted hp/mp puts homam over pearle for atonement spam

edit: assuming of course that the head does indeed turn out to be 3%, which i strongly suspect it is

The people over on BG seem to be all over it. A few are testing the other pieces for typos.
