what you SHOULD be comparing to is full haste meat vs full haste sushi

But you can't compare the two.

There is going to be ~50accuracy difference between the two sets.

Situationally they are both best.

My point is, when you NEED to reach 460+ accuracy and are full time engaged you have 3 choices:

Sushi + full haste
Pizza + 1-3% reduction in haste
Meat + 5+% reduction in haste and uncapped accuracy.

Please pick one of the above.

Whether or not SAM should ever have cause to use sushi while fighting HNMs.

At least that's what I am doing

Sorry for causing this mini-derail.

But something I think Ghaleon would agree with me on is, you should consider a TP build specifically for /DRG.

Hello yet again.

After running through the last three pages (as well as the remainder of page two), I only seemingly had one question directed toward me, and that's this "mistake" of mine, not considering my accuracy, so it's said.

As stated earlier, the only real viable slot to argue for additional accuracy in the end is the head piece, which I use turban full time, bar /DRG.

Here's me using turban:
Code
05/22/10: TIAMAT 75%>0%

Melee Damage
Player Melee Dmg Melee % Hit/Miss M.Acc % M.Low/Hi M.Avg #Crit C.Low/Hi C.Avg Crit%
Ironpandemonium 3345 17.45 % 100/12 89.29 % 0/59 27.80 9 76/126 90.56 9.00 %

Not capped, but considering I'm riding with 22% Haste in equipment, it equals out easily surely, since I'm sporting at least x2 March and Haste on mostly everything. Even if not though, turban's generally better, when you consider, well, 89% on Tiamat? I'm pretty much laughing at Sandworm and other stuff, bar Dark Ixion. That was with meat, might I add (shame on me for being cheap food-wise).

Code
03/13/10: SAMURAI TANKING DARK IXION 80%>0%

Melee Damage
Player Melee Dmg Melee % Hit/Miss M.Acc % M.Low/Hi M.Avg #Crit C.Low/Hi C.Avg Crit%
Ironguy 3036 16.78 % 110/25 81.48 % 4/85 24.47 14 26/162 49.07 12.73 %

Why 80%>0%? I ticked off the Paladin once I got there (at about 85%), so he sat up by the mages after enmity shifted 100%, jokingly, thinking I'd die solo tanking the thing, but y'know. For reference. Our tank party is always: PLD SAM RDM WHM BRD BRD, hence why I can pull it off (but you need /NIN too, mind you).

My accuracy's hurting there to a sense, but in the end, if I wanted to be blowing a pizza per day, I'd be capping on Dark Ixion even with turban. Why I don't though, is because it tends to hurt the wallet, as stupid of an excuse as that sounds.

Edit: It appears [code] is broken...? You'll get the idea though, if you just look a little harder is all.

Feeling much better today sofar lol.

So i downloaded/installed FFXI Calculator again and this has helped reinforce this set for me.

Turns out perfecet 5 hit build with 5.6 second delay using hasso (no haste spell) between swings.

I'm going to cross check some gear swaps you could do and see how this matches up.

Wait Wait waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

i've discovered something interesting according to FFXIcalculator.

Love torque actually beats pca for this set i think.

With all of this gear and polearm merits, i have 256 Polearm skill and with all the gear calculated in it says i have a 94.5% hit-rate.

When i swap pca for love torque and change the polearm skill to 263 and lower the acc on the neck slot acc to 6 it shows a perfect 95% hit rate.

But love torque also adds attack+ from the skill.

Why are you putting 6 accuracy into neck slot when you have Love Torque equipped and also giving the combat skill boost? Its the equivalent of giving yourself twice the accuracy boost on the calculator.

To get proper calculation for love torque you should put an extra 5 DEX in, and raise the combat skill 7 points, but leave a 0 on the neck accuracy.

If you leave a 6 in the accuracy and raise the combat skill both you're giving yourself double the accuracy boost, it auto calculates the accuracy boost from weapon skill.

You cant enter individual stats on FFXIcalc on this tab so i was accounting for the dex but i math failed so i should be putting 3 there instead of 6. But that brings up a good point, should i be listing more than +12 on body since haub+1 has DEX+6?

You cant put the 5 DEX (and all the other missing DEX) in the DEX + (blank) column ?

But yeah if you change the 6 to a 3 that accounts for the DEX and doesn't give you a double accuracy boost.

Doesn't work like that. The decimals are dropped off at the end of each stage.

Add total dex = number.something, drop the .something, keep number

Add total skill = number.something, drop the .something, keep the number.

Number + number = new number
