Always one of my favorite comedy actors. His movies with Pryor are some of the funniest comedies of all time.

Sigh.

I saw Mel Brooks' comments about him, and of course that got me to thinking that Mr. Brooks is really up there in years now too.

So much brilliance going away and so few stepping up to replace them. I don't know that it's even that we don't have the talented people to do so, but that the entertainment industry is so different now that becoming established in such a fashion is simply not feasible.
